Shakespeare didn’t say that
The quote, “some pigs are more equal than others” is not from William Shakespeare. George Orwell wrote in Animal Farm, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Info would have been better sooner
West Hawaii Today’s coverage of the various legislative contests and proposed governance language changes is commendable. However, the coverage comes a bit late, as absentee ballots have been provided and many returned before the coverage began.
In the future, a closer look at the release date of absentee ballots, in relation to the published comparison of candidates and analysis of proposed governance language would be appropriate.

Vote like the Walrus
Before you mark your ballot ask yourself this simple question.
Who would John Lennon vote for?

Obvious choice for President
My obvious choice for President Obama’s replacement was influenced by the wisdom of a great man — former President Jimmy Carter. In essence he said, “You’re worth isn’t determined by what you have, it is by what you do.”
Early in life Hillary Clinton began doing what was best for people who had little voice in government. Her actions are clearly heard as justice and compassion.
And then we have Donald Trump, who, being a person of great wisdom, has deemed the election rigged and believes the entire media is trying to defeat him. All the money in the world won’t buy the essence of what is good. Feel the goodness. He truly embodies a world which I find distasteful.

Thank you for fixing light
I would like to thank the Roads Division for their effort in adjusting the sensitivity of the traffic lights at the Nani Kailua Drive/Queen Kaahumanu Highway extension. Two Road Division workers coordinated efforts last Thursday (Oct. 20) at the intersection with my kokua (motorcycle). The traffic signal works like it has in the past.
